I made up the name "Selikal" in 1995 honoring my dwarf rabbit “Selik”, which was my pet for 10 years. The Norwegian name "Selik" was taken from the film "A Summer with Selik” which tells the story of the relationship between a teenage Norwegian girl named Katrine and a newborn harbor seal In 2007, an experimental music band borrowed the name "SELIKAL”.
Selik the dwarf rabbit:
I got Selik on my 9th birthday - as a gift from my aunt and my uncle - after I had repeatedly expressed my wish to have a pet. My parents were against it, but when they saw Selik sitting shyly in the small box, they didn't have the heart to give him away. My mum bought a cage and I looked after him and cared for his wellbeing.
In memory of:

"Selik"
(† 25.09.2004)
He escaped several times from dogs hunting him;
He shared carrot, apple and banana with me;
he was sometimes cheeky, but always sweet;
He gave me an unusual nickname;
he was my first pet
He spent 10 years with me - thank you;
He will be forever in my heart - Selik.
